THE IRISH PLAYBOOK
Know who you’re playing with.
How to read the Irish register and understand the scope of a licence.
Start with the official register
The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland register is the primary source used for the remote betting licence entries in our operator directory. We checked the register updated on 13 October 2026. The register can change, so use its current version when making a decision.
Match the brand to the legal operator
A consumer brand can be a trading name of a different legal company. The same company can operate several brands. Match the name, trading names, licence number and licence dates rather than relying on a logo alone.
Check the licence type
Remote betting and remote betting intermediary licences have different scopes. A sports betting entry does not, by itself, establish authorisation for a casino, poker room or other product. Product-specific information and the operator’s terms must be checked separately.
Read the dates and status
Check the register’s current record, commencement and expiry dates. A dated article, old PDF or screenshot may no longer describe the current position. Our profiles link to their sources and show the date of the editorial check.
What a licence does not promise
A register entry is not a promise of winnings, a guarantee that an account will be accepted, or a recommendation to gamble. Age, residence, identity verification and product conditions can still affect access.
Browse the operator directory and review the research approach.
